28 November 2022 – Dr Hen Says (DHS) is proud to announce a collaboration with the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) in support of World AIDS Day for the second consecutive year.

This year’s campaign includes an animated short video about a Hen dentist, Dr Hendrew, who was born with HIV. It recounts the struggle of someone who faced stigma in their early school years, the consequential hesitancy in sharing their positive status with friends and colleagues, and the fear of starting a romantic relationship. The goal is to highlight and raise awareness that misinformation, lack of knowledge around HIV continues today and that undetectable viral loads are untransmissible.

Globally, around 38.4 million individuals are living with HIV. Every minute, 3 individuals are newly infected. Education plays a vital role in curbing the transmission of HIV, shedding a light on vulnerable communities, reducing stigma and discrimination, and continuing the fight against AIDS everywhere.

“Getting tested is the first step to knowing your HIV status,” says Dr Hen. “I work hard to destigmatize issues like HIV and AIDS. Together, we can end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.”

The animated short, Dr. Hendrew’s story: Living with HIV, will be released on multiple platforms including Decentraland, TikTok, and YouTube. More information on HIV will be available on Instagram.
